Responsible for assisting the Bakery Development Manager in the development of SBK Baked goods and SBK Ready to Eat products which lead to growth and profitability for the Sheetz Brand.

1. Effectively communicate with purchasing, marketing, R&D, QA, production, and brand departments, management teams, and corporate office departments to ensure accuracy of culinary information.
2. Work cooperatively with SBK Teams to troubleshoot potential production pitfalls. Ensuring adherence to finished product specifications and SOP’s.
3. Serve as a Technical Bakery Resource for new and existing lines, managing and documenting all new Bakery and RTE products from ideation to market.
4. Assist scale-up of all products from bench top to full scale production.
5. Validate written product specifications and operational procedures for the SBK. Responsible for tracking and up keep of R&D documentation for the SBK.
6. Work cooperatively with purchasing, production, and vendors to identify opportunities to extend product shelf life, to improve product quality, and/or to reduce product costs.
7. Coordinate organoleptic product, shelf life studies, and work cooperatively with the QA and marketing departments to determine SBK product shelf life.
8. Track food industry product development and processing trends and apply findings to improve overall product quality, consistency, and consumer acceptability.

Education

• Associate’s degree in culinary arts or related field required.
• Bachelor’s degree in culinary arts or related field preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 3 years in food service manufacturing required.
• Minimum 1 year team lead, supervisory, or management experience required.

Licenses/Certifications

• ServSafe certification or equivalent required (Required within 1 year of employment)
