Sandwich / Prep Cook

Souvenir Coffee Co. is currently seeking a part-time or full-time Sandwich / Prep Cooks to join our team at our Berkeley locations. We are a young and passionate company looking for individuals who share our love for coffee and food, and who are team players with strong leadership skills in a neighborhood environment. Responsibilities:

• Prepare made-to-order food items from the coffee shop/cafe menu, including breakfast and lunch sandwiches, salads, and pre-made items
• Perform daily food preparation, including vegetables/fruits, meats, dairy, sauces, syrups, and pre-made to-go items
• Bake pastry and other items as needed throughout the day
• Organize and stock food inventory and products on shelves and in storage
• Maintain cleanliness standards, quality control, and excellent customer service
• Open and close the food area for each shift
• Provide excellent customer service and coffee knowledge to both customers and coworkers, upholding the company's core values
• Provide coverage backup for baristas (register/coffee bar) and assist with coffee preparation (espresso, cold brew, and batch brewing)
• Manage and organize stock areas (cups, sugar, lids, and napkins) Qualifications:
• At least one year of cooking experience in a restaurant, deli, or cafe setting
• A passion for good food and coffee
• Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills
• Attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure
• Ability to foster a fun and hard-working environment
• Must be available to work weekends
• Coffee and baking experience is a plus! Benefits:
• Starting hourly wage of $18.07 to $19/hour plus tips (typically $4-12/hr depending on day/location)
