Airswift has been tasked by one of our major Upstream clients to seek a Sand Control Engineer to join their team in Houston, TX for an initial 12-month contract, possibly to extend!
Responsibilities:
- Design and recommend Sand Control solutions for cased hole and openhole gravel pack completions, considering factors like reservoir characteristics, wellbore geometry, and production requirements.
- Perform wellbore stability analysis to assess the risk of sand production and select appropriate Sand Control methods.
- Select and specify gravel pack materials (gravel size, strength, etc.) based on reservoir properties and wellbore conditions.
- Develop detailed procedures for gravel pack placement operations, ensuring optimal Sand Control performance and wellbore integrity.
- Collaborate with drilling, completion, and production engineers to ensure seamless integration of Sand Control solutions into the overall well construction plan.
- Analyze post-completion well data to evaluate the effectiveness of Sand Control measures and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in Sand Control technology and best practices.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Sand Control Engineering, with a proven track record of successful cased hole and openhole gravel pack job execution.
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related field (a strong plus).
- In-depth understanding of reservoir mechanics, wellbore stability analysis, and sand production mechanisms.
- Proven experience in designing and specifying Sand Control equipment, including gravel packs, screens, and liners.
- Excellent knowledge of gravel pack placement techniques and completion operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
