The Sample Intake Specialist will perform Sample Intake duties: reviewing chain of custody (COC) and METRC documentation, homogenize samples and record data in LIMS system. They will also help with any lab duties that may include but not limited to work area maintenance, inventory upkeep, assisting with lab samples status checks and general administrative lab duties.

General Duties
- Sample Intake:
- Review chain of custody and METRC documentation.
- Take pictures of samples.
- Unpackage and homogenize samples.
- Record data in LIMS system.
- Customer Service – occasional interface with customers to accept sample drop-offs and payment
- Maintain a clean work environment; assist in cleaning work area and tools
- Validate lab equipment daily and calibrate as needed.
- Perform clerical work related to laboratory activities such as record keeping and filing.
- Monitor inventory; assist in ordering lab supplies, standards, solvents
- Ensure and work under frameworks of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and ISO 17025
- Adhere to safety standards
- Assist lead lab personnel with related administrative duties
- Flexibility, preparedness to adjust to rapidly developing priorities and carry multiple responsibilities in a start-up environment
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Cannabis sample processing or food safety/environmental lab background are strongly preferred
- Background working environment in ISO 17025 laboratory a plus
- Strong Attention to Detail
- Comfort and ability to work autonomously or with minimal guidance
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to prioritize
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with strong attention to detail
