Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled Sales Tax Manager to ensure compliance with Sales Tax laws and regulations across our restaurant group. The Sales Tax Manager will be responsible for managing Sales Tax processes, reconciling Sales Tax accounts, and preparing and filing Sales Tax returns. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Sales Tax law, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of Sales Tax compliance for the restaurant group, including researching Sales Tax laws and regulations, interpreting tax statutes, and ensuring adherence to filing requirements
- Prepare and file Sales Tax returns accurately and timely for multiple jurisdictions
- Reconcile Sales Tax accounts and resolve any discrepancies or issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including accounting, finance, and operations, to ensure accurate reporting of Sales Tax data
- Respond to inquiries and notices from tax authorities related to Sales Tax matters
- Monitor changes in Sales Tax laws and regulations and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to streamline Sales Tax processes and enhance compliance
- Assist with Sales Tax audits and provide support as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMI certification preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Sales Tax compliance, preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry
- Strong understanding of Sales Tax laws and regulations, including multi-state Sales Tax issues
- Proficiency in Sales Tax software and ERP systems
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $63,109.97 - $83,960.00 per year
