Sales Engineer - NDT
** This is an in-office position working in Lawrenceville, GA **
The Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) vertical of Rad Source Technologies is focused on solving the complex issues that NDT customers face regardless of vendor. The Sales Engineer is responsible for supporting sales executives in solution selling to prospects, executing strategic deals, modeling financial business cases, and matching customer requirements to proposed solutions. They possess technical expertise, strong communication and presentation skills. Responsibilities include improving existing mechanical systems, developing new product concepts and prototypes, designing, and testing mechanical and electronic systems, and developing various automated systems. In addition, this position will lead the proposal process with an emphasis on systems, drawings, and process.
To be successful as a Sales Engineer, you should be able to work within demanding timeframes and develop original, practical solutions to problems. Outstanding candidates draw on a wide range of engineering principles and are not afraid to wander into unchartered territory.
Responsibilities:
- This position will be responsible for System Design layouts, using Solid Works and PDM, for a variety of applications.
- The Sales Engineer will create a build-to design package with BOMs and assembly directions such that the package can be delivered to a manufacturer without questions.
- This position will lead the commercial front end process of proposal management including systems, tools, formats, and content. Provides this in conjunction with Net-Suite.
- Will contribute to Designing, developing, and enhancing electro-mechanical systems. Robotic systems, and mechatronic devices.
- Develops schematics, logic diagrams, and other control diagrams.
- Develops mechanical and electromechanical prototypes.
- Assists in designing and developing advanced test equipment/methods for NDT systems.
- Identifies areas of weakness in the production line or finished products and makes recommendations for improvement.
- Identifies current and future customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual customers and others in a position to understand service requirements.
- Contributes to Sales Engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed, recommending options and courses of action, and implementing directives.
- Serves customers by identifying their needs and engineering adaptations of products, equipment, and services.
- Develops customer staff by providing technical information and training.
- Provides product, service, or equipment technical and engineering information by answering questions and requests.
- Design and manufacture custom control systems used in manufacturing, delivery, and manufacturing processes.
- Assisting with recruitment, onboarding, and training of junior Engineers or Apprentices.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Requirements:
- BSc in mechanical, electrical or mechatronics engineering or similar.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and creative thinking skills.
- Experience in electronic or mechanical design, automated test equipment, embedded system design/programming, robotic automation, and integrated test systems
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design, assembly, and testing of electronic and electronic-mechanical assemblies
- Strong knowledge of CAD software, specifically, SolidWorks, and is Required
- Strong knowledge of material properties for choosing alloys in designs, as well as fastener properties, coatings, and graphics choices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
- Willingness to learn new technologies, processes, and skills.
- Willingness to work on a small team with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
