Title: Sales Engineer
Type of position: Full-time
JOB PURPOSE
We seek an energetic, self-starter interested in advancing our market presence and competitive advantage through a collaborative team approach. You will receive support and interact with the critical areas of our business including sales and business development, customer service, manufacturing, and engineering.
JOB DUTIES:
These essential functions indicate the general nature and level of work expected in this position. - Actively manage key customer accounts to achieve sales growth objectives and identify significant sales opportunities.
- Create a defined sales plan to meet or exceed metrics for revenue growth, operating profit, and market share within a competitive and emerging application technology market.
- Provide expertise and leadership in winning new business and work closely with customers and other members of the sales team as needed to win new business.
- Participate effectively in the sales planning process, which includes writing Tactical Action Plans, territory sales plans, and Customer Intelligence Reports and updating forecasts as directed by sales leadership.
- Provide timely and accurate submission of sales forecasts, territory growth projections, and sales reports to support the demand planning process.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on competitive activities.
- Drive profitable sales growth and market coverage through value selling.
- Initiate, maintain and grow influential client relationships with key accounts in the territory
- Ensure highly efficient communication and teamwork with regional Sales Managers, Technical Service, Product Development, Marketing, Customer Service, group functions, and all external interfaces.
- Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors.
- Strong analytical skills. Responsible for collaborating with the Estimating Team to produce and deliver quotes in a reasonable amount of time.
- Managing customer base; coordination with internal activities and outside sales
- Prospecting for customers through web-based activity and expanding target markets
- Analyzing, qualifying and follow-up of prospects and leads. Updates CRM system with customer updates, new information, and visits.
- Keeps leadership team informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as regular call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
- Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management.
- Building and maintaining a comprehensive map and database of the sales process, including prospects, current customers and targeted sales accounts
- Market information management and dissemination to team members
- Progress reporting to team members and action plan prioritizing to meet commitments
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Travel outside the office is required with respect to making sales calls, tradeshow visits, market visits, workshops, and trainings.
