WHO YOU ARE:
Interested in sales but not quite ready to take the plunge? Join our newly forming Sales Development Rep (SDR) team to explore how the sales teams operate. Our Remote SDR - Life Insurance role is on the front lines of the Policygenius customer experience: managing all inbound calls with prospective Life Insurance customers, and ensuring they get transferred to a Sales Agent (and feel good about the process) all while working remotely! In addition, you will be responsible for thinking on your feet as you receive a variety of questions from prospective and existing customers with intent to resolve their questions/concerns or transfer to the appropriate representative and department. The objective is to remove as many distractions and non-sales related functions from the sales agents as possible. You will be the first line of defense!
Our sales team thrives on collaboration, creative competitions, and thoughtful communication with customers as we drive a positive, tech-enhanced experience in an industry typically known for being old-school and paper-based. With an incredibly collaborative environment, this team is perfect for someone who is competitive but eager to have a material impact in a sales support role.
Individuals who reside in Alaska, California, Colorado, Montana, Nevada, and Rhode Island are not eligible for this remote role.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Serve as the first point of contact for inbound prospective and existing customers via the phone
  • On the fly - be able to identify and anticipate how to eagerly assist inbound callers and route them to a life sales agent or handle the call to resolution.
  • Use a consultative approach to guide customers through questions
  • Work closely with sales to solve complex client/process problems
  • Proactive outreach to customers where we've sent a Life Insurance application and need to collect signatures and/or complete an exam.
  • Execute on ad hoc projects that help improve sales results through re-engagement
  • Ensure prospective and existing customers receive unparalleled service
  • Be flexible and must be comfortable with changing priorities and responsibilities.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • You have prior experience in a high-volume, dialer-based sales role, bonus points if you have prior experience in Life Insurance
  • You are self-motivated, driven, and excited to continue to grow in your career
  • You're eager to find yourself among a diverse group of competitive peers, always learning from each other
  • You have are passionate about helping people and are comfortable just jumping in (this is a newly formed role)
  • You work well with others, solving problems on the fly using Slack, Zoom, Five9 and other communication methods (we are willing to train the right people)
  • Your family and friends would describe you as a natural conversationalist - you keep the conversation flowing and are a pleasure for our clients to speak to!
  • You welcome any and all feedback - you're looking to improve your skills, and recognize the value of hands-on managers who care deeply about your growth
  • You are open to working some weekends and occasional evenings obviously from the comfort of your own home!

The salary range for this role is a good faith estimate, it is estimated based on what a successful candidate might be paid in certain Company locations. The salary range for this position is $40,000 - $45,000. All offers presented to candidates are carefully reviewed to ensure fair, equitable pay by offering competitive salaries that align with the individual's skills, education, experience, training, and geographic location. The range may vary above or below the stated amounts.
