Job Description
This job function is responsible for assisting in the determination of rental requirements for customers on a daily basis. Ability to work cross-departmentally in a tight-knit team environment is a must. The individual in this position should be personable, a problem solver, ethical, intelligent, and able to adapt to all of the forces around them – customers, suppliers, department employees, management and peers.
DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS:
- Learn and develop strong knowledge on features and benefits of all equipment supported by Komatsu and Wirtgen America.
- Operates as a facilitator for customers in meeting their needs relative to parts and rental inquiries in-person and via phone. Responsible for booking equipment rentals from our fleet and responsible for growth metrics tied to personal incentives.
- Maintain excellent customer relations and possess a courteous business manner. Able to deal with customer objections in a professional manner in a relationship-heavy atmosphere.
- Quickly learn and ramp up to customer relationship management system (CRM) and other support systems used on a daily basis.
- Be able to be on your feet much of the day, including assisting customer outside in all weather conditions as needed.
- Assist vendors in receiving and loading customer goods as needed.
- Have a tendency for very close attention to detail in all matters and tasks involved in customer support and financial reporting.
- Work closely with our team of service technicians for internal processes, reporting, and parts fulfillment.
- While most customer-support efforts come from inbound inquiries, assist in outbound efforts to constantly support growth of our parts, service, and rental efforts.
General skill requisites:
- Strong organizational skills
- Good communication skills
- Excellent customer relations skills
- Good computer proficiency and systems knowledge
- Knowledge of the construction equipment industry (ideally skidsteers and compact excavators).
Reports to: General Manager
Job Type: Full-time, M-F (8am-5pm or 7am-4pm)
Required education:
- High school or equivalent. College diploma preferred.
Required experience:
- Construction Equipment Industry Support – 2 years
