Position Title:Coordinator ofSpecial Initiatives and Community Relations

Department:President's Office
Essential Function:Assists the President with planning, events, special projects, and provides ongoing support for Special Initiatives of the College.
Qualifications:Education: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: Two to three years’ experience in the community college and in organizing special events.
Knowledge: Demonstrates knowledge of academic and student services. Knowledge of community organizations and the business and educational environment.
Skills: Must have good communication skills, organizational skills, and computer skills. Ability to work within a team environment.
1. Plan, organize and coordinate special events in collaboration with internal departments and outside agencies.
2. Assist in the coordination of programs, services and activities for the advancement of the institution.
3. Build relationships with local community organizations.
4. Support the development and implementation of the Community Relations Plan.
5. Attend campus and Community events as assigned, representing the college.
6. Develop and maintain database for educational, business and Community partnerships.
7. Assist the administration, faculty, staff, and external constituents in facilitating the development of new programs.
8. Support the maintenance of the College Website.
9. Compile data and assist in the preparation of complex reports and/or materials for presentation which may contain sensitive or confidential material and require a high degree of skill.
10. Coordinate, monitor, and maintain projects calendar for the Office of the President.
11. Assist in the planning and evaluation of activities of the College.
12. Provide the college community with informational updates on institutional campaigns.
13. Prepare various material such as reports, memos, and correspondence.
14. Represent the President and the Office of the President at meetings as assigned.
15. Serve on committees as appropriate.
16. Perform other duties as assigned.
