Batteries Plus Bulbs in Raleigh, NC is currently hiring for a motivated full-time Store Associate / Customer Service Rep to join our team. This retail position typically works 5 days a week, either 9 am - 5 pm or 11 am - 7 pm and earns a competitive hourly wage of $14.00 - $16 plus commission. SALES ASSOCIATE / CUSTOMER SERVICE REP REQUIREMENTS

As a Sales Associate, you cheerfully greet our customers and make them feel welcome when they come into our store. You are comfortable initiating conversations and motivated to help our customers to the best of your ability. By actively listening, asking questions, and utilizing your product knowledge, you are able to make recommendations and sell the appropriate products. To help keep our store organized and running efficiently, you stock inventory, unload pallets, maintain correct pricing labels, and arrange product displays. You also have the chance to take your tinkering interest to the next level as you learn the technical skills necessary to assist with device repairs (iPhone, Samsung). No matter what our customers need help with, you are happy to help. You enjoy interacting with customers and playing an important role in our stores' success, as well as your own success!

Essential Responsibilities

Customer Service / Sales

• Greet customers, determine needs and answer questions appropriately.
• Suggest add-on items, participate in retail store and commercial sales activities in order to achieve monthly sales and profit goals.
• Ask questions to identify potential commercial customers to boost business clientele.
• Operate POS systems/cash register to complete sales transactions with accuracy and very close attention to detail.
• Answer phones, ensuring any important messages are relayed to management.
• Watch for loss prevention issues and advise management of any unusual activities.
• Demonstrate a customer-first mentality- willingness to help problem-solve with customers and find the best solution for them.

Technical

• Install batteries, perform tests and tech work (Problem-solving and diagnosing cell phone issues, car battery testing/installing).
• Able to rebuild cordless drill batteries and other battery packs as needed.
• Repair cell phones, tablets, light fixtures and other applicable devices as needed.
• Replace screens, batteries and other components on smartphones.
• Cut vehicle keys and program/reprogram key fob remotes

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma/equivalent and 6 months prior work experience preferred or equivalent combination of
• Must have technical aptitude and have the ability to work small parts and tools
• Ability to make minor decisions and use some judgment within standardized procedures
• Good listening and verbal communication skills with a customer focus; general knowledge of Customer Service policies/procedures
• Must possess and use organizational and analytical problem solving skills
• Ability to calculate simple math, percentages, ratios and algebraic expressions and read gauges
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred.
