The Sales Assistantis directly responsible and accountable for sales, merchandising and overall service for their accounts. Key responsibilities for on and/or off premise accounts include, but are not limited to:
- Answer all customer questions concerning price, products, promotions, etc.
- Fill in as the relief sales representative when the primary sales representative is out.
- Call in and service all customer requests the same day.
- Establish an objective, plan and goal for each account.
- Create, develop, and maintain good will (positive relationships) in every account.
- Review customer account balances aging daily and collects when due.
- Meet all merchandising standards as dictated by IMPACT Selling (shelf space, display activity, permanent and paper Point-of-Sale/signage).
- Maximize sales of WDI Portfolio in assigned accounts by increasing distribution, shelf space, displays, securing price points, draught taps, merchandising, etc.
- Maintain regular call frequency on all assigned retail accounts to meet sales obligations and customer needs.
- Ensure published freshness standards in all assigned retail accounts that are in line with monthly Finish Product Loss (FPL) budget.
- Sustain proper inventory levels at retail accounts to ensure there are no out-of-stock/over-stock situations.
- Work with all departments to resolve customer service issues (e.g. credit/collection, deliveries, etc.).
- Make daily decisions regarding retail inventory levels using past sales history and reports.
- Perform promotional work to sell and secure new business, to include important and major accounts and/or develop sales and secure business in new territories, within new markets, or with customers where full market potential or product line acceptance has not been established.
- Prepare price quotations, terms of sales, delivery dates, etc., and prepare orders.
- Demonstrate product knowledge and assist prospective accounts to select those that best suit their needs.
- Demonstrate and familiarize established accounts with new products and promotions.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports such as itineraries, activities, sales volume, expenses, mileage, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
This position will be primarily a Monday through Friday position with some nights and weekends. This position will be covering the Oshkosh, Fond du Lac and Green Lake areas, reporting out of the Appleton Facility.
Education & Work Experience
- Bachelor's Degree with courses in marketing or business related field OR equivalent job related experience
- Sales experience preferred
- One to three years experience working in sales and/or marketing
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and proof of insurance
- Working knowledge or Microsoft Office Suite programs and mobile communications
- Shelf Planning Plus knowledge preferred
- Customer service minded
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, oral and written
- Demonstrated initiative and flexibility
- High level organizational, time management, and planning skills
