Rare opportunity for Sales & Events Manager role in the heart of Boston! The Sales and Events Manager position is a combination role of selling group room blocks and servicing at the hotel. The ideal candidate will have extensive hotel sales experience and a proven track record in meeting and exceeding revenue goals. This person will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities while maintaining and nurturing existing accounts.
Some key parts of this role:
- Selling corporate, non-profit & leisure group accounts.
- Identify new business that fits sales parameters.
- Solicit new and existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication.
- Service definite group business and act as a liaison between the hotel and event planners.
- Coordinating and executing events that includes meeting logistics, menu planning and management of group blocks and billing.
- Develop long-term relationships.
- Working with Revenue Management team to optimized revenue and yield management.
- Participate in pre-convention meetings, training and other sales-related meetings as required.
- Attend trade shows, community events and industry meetings.
- Research/maintain knowledge of market trends, competition and customers.
- Preparing correspondence to customers, internal booking reports and client data.
- Negotiate contracts and addendums.
- Prepare and edit contracts, booking recaps. and resumes.
- Conduct site tours of the Hotel with individuals and groups.
- Work with multiple teams including audio visual, front desk, bellmen, and housekeeping for events as needed, and corresponded with these teams and outside vendors to ensure a successful and seamless event.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3+ years hotel group or meetings sales experience in the Boston area.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, Outlook, and Delphi / Salesforce will be highly preferred for this role. Experience with Opera a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed sales goals by effectively negotiating and closing business.

- Ability to identify, target new accounts, and sell concepts and ideas to clients.
- Ability to create and deliver high quality experience that meets or exceeds our guests' expectations.
