The Senior Events Manager, reporting to the Director of University Events, is part of a small team responsible for supporting the planning and implementation of University events, on- and off-campus and virtual. The variety of events at Brandeis include, for example: Presidential / Provost events, Commencement, Spiritual Life, trustee events, visiting dignitaries, anniversary and milestone celebrations, dedications, groundbreakings, cultivation, stewardship, and fundraising events, receptions, dinners, and town hall meetings. The Senior Events Manager is responsible for ensuring a high level and consistent image of the University in all public events. The ideal candidate is both diplomatic and innovative, fosters strong and collaborative working relationships, and is familiar with Brandeis’ Framework for the Future. It is anticipated they may manage a student worker in the future as more events occur on campus.
Reporting to the Associate Director of University Event Operations, the Senior Events Manager is part of a team responsible for supporting the planning and implementation of University events. The role includes supporting institutional events that are a high priority for the campus community. Will also work to market, recruit and execute external events such as corporate meetings, social engagements, and other non-Brandeisian events. The Senior event manager will also have a campus constituent market segmentation assigned by departmental leadership. The ideal candidate has experience with planning events in a university setting, fosters strong and collaborative working relationships and is able to work in a fast paced environment.

University Events is hiring for both a Senior Events Manager and Events Manager applications may be considered for either role depending on qualifications.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates Brandeis affiliated events as assigned.
  • Coordinates external events for unaffiliated Brandeis clients as assigned.
  • Coordinates social Functions for clients affiliated or not affiliated with Brandeis, including weddings, bar and bat Mitzvahs, corporate meetings/programs and summer conferencing.
  • Manages student workforce for University Event Operations (academic year), Usher Crew (commencement) and Summer Conference Assistants (summer).
  • Other duties as assigned in pursuit of the departmental goals and mission.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Diplomacy, strong interpersonal skills, and a collaborative nature are all essential
  • Highly proficient with Excel, Word and Shared document including G-suite applications
  • Ability to guide and consult on best event practices
  • Acute attention to detail and extremely organized
  • Ability to manage student workers and maintain accountability and standards
  • Preferred knowledge in 25live reservation system, Coupa/Marketplace+, and Workday
  • Effective written/verbal communication skills
Education and Work Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree and 4-6 years of relevant work experience, academic setting preferred

Additional Information:
  • Staff will serve in an on-call rotation Friday-Sunday
  • Must be able to lift 25lbs.
  • Some travel required. May include some evening or weekend hours.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record preferred.
