POSITION SUMMARY
The Area Safety Manager is a critical position to ensure the safety of personnel on job sites and will travel within an assigned geographic location to various job sites. Plan, implement and supervise project safety in accordance with Federal, State, and local Health and Safety regulations, and Environment (HSE) regulations, site safety and corporate policies. The successful candidate is reliable, a self-starter, can work autonomously with minimal direction from management, and has the ability to travel in a company provided vehicle to job sites within the LA/OC and Inland Empire region.
KEY RESPONSIBILIITES:
- Oversee critical work plan activities to ensure we are following the approved work plan
- Perform jobsite inspections, review safety related paperwork
- Ensure field operations are in compliance with Current OSHA regulations, Murray Company Policies and Owners or General Contractor’s rules as specified by contract
- Assist with training as needed for the projects specifically to ensure all employees on site have the required training needed and discuss upcoming training needs with the project team and assist in scheduling classes
- Assist with accident, incident and near miss investigation for the jobsites and develop safety alerts as a result thereof
- Ensure appropriate management of work-related injuries and proper care for injured employees
- Develop and implement procedures to eliminate hazards and situations as those discovered through lessons learned and investigations from prior incidents
- Assist Safety Department and project team as needed for specific safety related items
QUALIFICIATIONS:
Required
- 10+ years of experience overseeing safety across multiple job sites
- OSHA 500 certification
- CPR Certification
- Construction Safety industry experience
Preferred
- Knowledge and understanding of OSHA regulations
- STSC (Safety Trained Safety Certified)
- CPR Training Certification
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- May need to lift push pull or carry 10 pounds up to 30 pounds occasionally
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision and work on a computer
- While performing the duties of this job standing is regularly required
- Use of hands and finger to handle, feel, grasp, or pick up items and work on a computer
- Reach with hands and arms may be required to occasionally reach above shoulder height
- Ability to speak verbally and hear
- Walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb flights of stairs and ladders, walk on uneven surfaces or terrain (for purposes of assisting with project job walks and site inspections)

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
