To support our growth we’re looking for an Integrated Safety Manager to join our awesome team!

The Integrated Safety Manager is responsible for developing and overseeing food and workplace safety regulations, policies, and procedures for the Food+ by Compass food spaces. As the Integrated Safety Manager, you will help to develop, implement and enforce security and food safety standards, policies, and programs including HACCP, SQF, and GFSI, regulatory audits, food safety training programs, standard operating procedures (SOP’s), product inspections, standardized work instructions, and OSHA compliance. In addition to this, you will be responsible for effectively leading the implementation and execution of the company’s safety strategy by placing a strong emphasis on continuous improvement and preventive measures.

This role will be based in Mountain View, California.

The great things you’ll do

• Develop and provide training for food safety and quality requirements.

• Grow and maintain documentation such as SOPs, as well as maintenance of manuals, policies and procedures as related to any food safety concerns.

• Maintain Procedures and documentation to align with changing requirements.

• Work closely with operations leaders and associates to ensure conformance to company standards.

• Monitor and verify that critical procedures are in place and effective.

• Conduct facility safety assessments as well as manage Third Party Audits. Review all results in a timely manner and based upon the findings, provide immediate feedback and support to the operators.

• Support Vendor Relations with training and educating potential suppliers to ensure compliance.

• Work closely with Operations Managers on any food safety or quality assurance issues.

• Oversee proper maintenance and sanitation of all facilities to comply with food safety requirements.

• Ensure that all company food safety and quality assurance procedures are followed and documented correctly at all times.

• Document, investigate quality concerns, resolve and follow up corrective measures.

• Support the Allergen Control Plan through monitoring and training.

• Provide guidance and direction to the Management team on Safety programs established by Compass Group QA and Safety.

• Support Company safety initiatives throughout Campus to meet performance goals.

• Compile, analyze and interpret accident and lost statistical data; make recommendations on actions that will drive toward zero injuries.

• Assist with root cause analysis for accidents and incidents, developing and implementing corrective actions and prevention plans

• Continuously engage employees to ensure needs and compliance are met, enforce safe behavior and a positive safe culture.

• Work with the Safety Committee to identify safety training needs, design, develop, and implement training programs as needed to ensure continuous improvement of employee health and safety behavior and performance.

What we look for in the perfect candidate

• Degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Public Health, Industrial Hygiene, or related discipline preferred

• A minimum of 7-10 years of industry experience in place of a degree.

• Value-driven, inspirational leadership invoked by a deep sense of purpose and responsibility

• Working knowledge of quality practices and procedures and the ability to coordinate a HACCP Program and provide improvements.

• Preferred credentials include REHS, CP-FS, HACCP, PCQI, SQFI or equivalent, ServSafe Certification

• Knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations.

• Excellence in time management and organizational skills with a high degree of initiative.

• Attention to detail and accuracy, sense of urgency and flexibility, requires limited supervision.

• Strong computer skills, including Google Docs

• Food industry experience.

• Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.

• Interact professionally with other employees, customers and suppliers.

• Effectively work as a team contributor on all assignments.

• Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.

• Ability to speak and present effectively in a group setting to Associates, Managers and Client and represent Compass and the Food Brand.

• Ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment.
