SUMMARY: Management Business Solutions is seeking a Safety Coordinatorfor its client in Salisbury, MD. The person will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing safety measures, policies, and training programs within the organization, promoting a secure and compliant work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure that the company adheres to all federal, state, and local safety regulations and standards.
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs to prevent accidents, injuries, and incidents in the workplace.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify and address potential hazards.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs to employees, including orientation for new hires and ongoing training for existing staff.
- Manage and investigate workplace incidents, injuries, and near misses, and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and first-aid protocols.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Health or Hygiene, Safety Science, Business Administration, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a safety or EHS role in a manufacturing environment. Metals industry experience preferred.
- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
- Understanding of security principles applicable to a manufacturing facility.
- Being open to working with teams on either 2nd or 3rd shift when the situation requires.
