The Burger King brand is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our Data Insights & Analytics team. The role will involve designing and maintaining our data pipelines and databases, ensuring optimal performance and reliability for our analytics workflows. The ideal candidate will have experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Python and SQL, and enjoy using huge data sets to drive business insights and decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into our analytics platforms.
- Manage our cloud-based databases, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
- Develop and maintain automated data processing and quality control routines.
- Data processing and preparation: Cleaning, filtering, transforming, and preparing data to make it ready for analysis.
- Collaborate with analysts and data scientists to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Participate in the design and implementation of new data models and schemas to support evolving business requirements.
- Provide technical guidance to other team members and contribute to best practices for data management and governance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Data Engineering, including experience with AWS and Snowflake.
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
- Experience with ETL tools such as Apache Airflow and AWS Glue.
- Used to work with GitHub and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with cloud-based databases and data warehouses such as Redshift, BigQuery, or Snowflake.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred:
- Experience working with marketing and restaurant analytics data.
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and technologies.
- Knowledge of SQL and database design principles.
