Job Summary
Conduct the routine tasks required within the laboratory, in support of the Laboratory Scientists.
Essential Functions
- Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results.
- Maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
- Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures. • Review and release test results.
- Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines as described in their respective guidelines.
- Follow the laboratory's established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance.
- Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results, correct the problems encountered or immediately notify the senior Lab Technologist or Lab Manager. On the job training provided.
Requirements
Education:
Bachelors or Masters with experience in RT PCR
Experience:
BA/BS in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or a degree in a related science and two or more years of recent, directly related work experience, utilizing the techniques or methods required by the position and demonstrating technical expertise in these areas; and/or equivalent experience/training.
Experience running RT PCR platforms such as Quantstudio and ABI system
Experience preparing PGx and infectious diseases and quality control
