HVAC Lab Technician
We are seeking an experienced HVAC Lab Technician to join our team. In this role, you will work in Daikin's Test Labs in conjunction with our Engineering team and will be responsible for performing both routine and non-routine lab tests on our various HVAC products. You will work from written test requests as well as developing and maintaining test data for documentation. In addition, you will conduct laboratory analyses, instrument maintenance and calibrations.

Responsibilities may include:
- Develop and maintain test data files.
- Evaluate validity of data, apply basic statistics, interpret results, and take appropriate action.
- Perform the maintenance and/or calibration of instruments and equipment.
- Set-up and perform both routine and non-routine lab tests according to specifications.
- Prepare test unit/model for testing, making alterations as needed.
- Record data (manually or electronically) and assist in summarization of data for reports and filing.
- Plays a crucial role in identifying and addressing unexpected behaviors in control software.
- Troubleshoots and provides pointers before involving engineers.
Experience:
- EPA 608 certification required or obtain one within 3 months of start date.
- Knowledge of HVAC controls, including but not limited to: Configuring HVAC units, operating smart thermostats, interpreting error codes, use of phone apps to configure smart home devices.
- Experienced in Soldering PCBs and making wire harnesses.
- Advanced brazing skills.
- Knowledge of HVAC System and their components.
- Good verbal and written communication skills: ability to understand technical instructions from engineers and fill in the blanks as needed.
- 3-7 years’ experience HVAC or Lab Technician experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- High School diploma GED.
- Advanced technical training-certification in electronics or HVAC is highly preferred.
