POSITION SUMMARY:
As the Lab Engineer, you will have the opportunity to gather information, enter data, and complete the Production Part Approval Process package for customer submissions. Additionally, you will be in charge of the PPAP and managing the lab equipment and calibration programs.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Direct the development, applicability, and submission of PPAP documentation to those customers requiring data
- Conducts/participates in team meetings to improve or achieve due dates on products & processes, complete PPAP activities, and support team effort and documentation.
- Interfaces regularly with process development teams (Quality, Engineering, Production, Maintenance) on all PPAP requests from customers, including tooling and PO.
- Documents the inspection records, including, but not limited to, customer-specific PPAP requirements.
- Create customer submissions on IMDS (International Material Data System)
- Must know the proper use of standard measurement tools. (Calipers, micrometers, height gauges, other quality lab equipment as required, etc.)
- Maintain lab equipment and calibration requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in the Engineering field of study.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within the industrial manufacturing environment.
- Must have experience abiding by IATF/ISO9001 standards.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Must be willing to work overtime when necessary
- Must be computer literate (basic computer skills)
- Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is preferred, but not required
