[[Materials Lab Technician]] - Full Time - La Porte (TX), United States
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
- Prior Materials Lab experience.
- Knowledge of metallurgical sample preparation and analysis.
- Proficient in the use of an optical microscope and scanning electron microscope.
- Understanding of the microstructure of steel and nickel alloys.
- Knowledge of ASTM standards related to material testing.
- General understanding and familiarity with Non-Destructive Evaluation methods (wet magnetic particle inspection, fluorescent dye-penetrant inspection, ultrasonic testing, radiography).
What you bring to Sulzer:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration.
- Knowledge of high school-level chemistry, math, and science.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to grasp technical and design aspects of rotating equipment services and repairs.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, capable of handling multiple projects.
- Physical ability to work in a shop environment.
