Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurses (RN) to join our client's dynamic team with a local school district. As a RN, you will play a crucial role in providing care to students in the Special Education classroom, contributing to their overall healthcare experience. Your primary responsibility will be to provide health services to students when they are at school. For example, you’ll tube feeding, trach care, vents or support students with chronic illnesses.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide basic healthcare to students in case of injury or acute illness
- Develop health plans for students with chronic illnesses and disabilities
- Educate students and staff on healthy habits, such as proper nutrition and hygiene
- Detect health problems in early stages through regular screenings
- Keep track of students’ vaccination records
- Update students’ medical history
- Ensure school environment is safe for children and school staff (e.g. prevention of communicable diseases)
- Write referrals for pediatricians and other health specialists
- Ensure compliance with national and local health laws
Qualifications & Education:
- Current and updated resume
- 2-years + recent work history – RN
- Fingerprinting Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association
- Titers (MMR, Varicella, Hep B)
- Tdap Vaccination current (within the past 10yrs)
- Tb Skin Test or Chest X-ray up to date
- Trach, vent and tube feeding experience.
