The City of Santa Clara is recruiting for a Risk Manager who will be charged with developing and implementing a comprehensive and coordinated loss prevention and risk management program for the City and its associated entities. This Risk Manager will serve as a liaison and lead risk mitigation efforts for general government programs, the electric utility (Silicon Valley Power), Water and Sewer Utilities, and the Stadium Authority. The Risk Manager will provide input on a variety of matters ranging from claims management, to real estate development projects, to employee training programs.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced risk management professional with exceptional technical and interpersonal skills. The candidate will have experience in all areas of risk management including risk identification and analysis, prevention and transfer, loss control
and prevention, the development of risk mitigation policies and training programs, and have demonstrated the ability to successfully lead cutting-edge, cross-departmental risk mitigation efforts for a public agency. The candidate's expert knowledge and adaptable approach will provide the needed foundation to manage effectively in a complex environment with varying lines of business and stakeholders. This individual will have the opportunity to develop and manage an effective and well-coordinated risk management program.
