Job purpose: The Risk Manager will oversee the organizations comprehensive insurance and risk management program, assessing and identifying risks that could impede the reputation, safety, security, or financial success of the organization.Responsibilities:

Job purpose: The Risk Manager will oversee the organizations comprehensive insurance and risk management program, assessing and identifying risks that could impede the reputation, safety, security, or financial success of the organization.
- Overall job duties: Analyzes and administers loss prevention programs and insured and self-insurance coverage for businesses and organizations; maintain an understanding of applicable laws and regulations related to the organizations industry; create policy and procedures for overall risk management program; utilizes knowledge of insurance strategies, securities, insurance, and real estate.
- Legal: Maintains knowledge of existing and developing laws and regulations related to the organizations industry; assesses and explains how new requirements may affect the organization in terms of risk exposure. Handles confidential information. Develops and implements contingency plans to manage business interruptions, volatile market events, and other emergencies.
- Claims Management: Manages all claims within the organization from inception to closing, leads investigations, reviews claims history, coordinates with the outside brokers and internal subject matter experts to collect information; submits information to outside brokers and is the internal liaison for all communications with brokers, manage broker and consultant relationships; prepares and submits documents to implement coverage and complete claims; and creates reports on status of claims to present to senior leadership. Any other duties or tasks required when working with brokers, managing claims, and acting as a liaison between the brokers and internal business units.
- Review Insurance Programs: Manages, reviews, and coordinates risk and insurance programs to determine best program for the company to control risks and losses. Provides analysis and recommendation on insurance brokers and carriers. Interprets organization's insurance coverage and maintains maximum protection of corporate assets at the most cost-effective rates.
- Fleet and Safety: Interacts directly with the fleet and safety departments to assist with researching all accidents or losses and reviews claims involving company employees, contractors, or products to determine a risk mitigation strategy.
- Risk Assessment - International: Identifies, evaluates, classify risk frequency and severity, measure financial impact to the company, direct loss prevention programs, direct activities of loss prevent experts, and proposes corrective action plans to senior leadership against risks that may result in injury, property loss, damage, or legal liability. Completes evaluation of international work, determines risk impact, and proposes to senior leadership risk assessment recommendation.
- Policy and Procedures: Develops risk management policies and procedures for presentation to senior leadership; assess established risk management practices and provides recommendations to senior leadership on improvements; and develop and implement overall risk management programs to reduce losses and insurance costs.
- Real Estate: Reviews, interprets, and provides analysis of real estate contracts and lease agreements to senior leadership, identifying risk assessments, works with outside brokers, provides report of real estate contract reviews to management with proposal on termination, liability, and other interpretations as needed.
- Serves as back-up for the contract litigation manager.
- Supports other functions in the department as required and other duties as assigned.
- Strong understanding of legal and regulatory risk mitigation strategies.
- Thorough understanding of policies and best practices of risk management.
- Excellent critical thinking skills, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, organizational skills, attention to detail.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to prepare reports and policies.
