Risk Management and Compliance Analyst II

The Risk Management and Compliance Analyst works across business functions monitoring the organization’s activities, performance and adherence to vendor requirements. Assists in minimizing risk inherent with customer accounts to promote financial strength and sustainability of customer an organizational partnership. Responsible for identifying, assessing, risk factors in the organization that affect the profitability and competitiveness of the business associated with EDI customer regulations, Direct to Consumer Drop Ship and Limited quantity hazardous Materials. Provides due diligence of Risk Management to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, tracking financials of noncompliance assessed penalties. Conducts proactive and thorough analysis of reported noncompliance deductions and Compliance updates to prioritize management attention, identify areas of opportunity and identify gaps in internal practices.

Supports the development and implementation of new and amended compliance requirements, policies, reporting and practices. Utilizes internal controls, and auditing to identify, detect and correct noncompliance and find ways through which risks could be prevented.

Ensures company activities adhere with the guidelines established by customers and hazmat regulations. Embraces new technologies, working with multiple systems and web platforms, identifying and assessing customer policy changes and identifying emerging risks. The Risk Management and Compliance Analyst provides a continual effort to help our manufacturing team to improve performance, and resilience. Conducts timely research of customer deductions, specializing in non-compliance related vendor deductions; provides data analysis of non-compliance deductions, and corrective action to prevent or recover quickly from all dynamic and simultaneous risk-related disruptions.

Provides visibility and transparency acting as a support structure across multiple teams collaborating with Supply Chain, Distribution Center, EDI, Operations, Sales & Marketing, Sales Managers, and outside the organization with Sales Reps and Customers to effectively ensure compliance procedures are met and rectify all non-compliant areas. The Risk Management and Compliance Analyst will initiate internal audits by assessing related regulations and monitor supplier performance. The Risk Mgt. and Compliance Analyst will promote teamwork while creating a positive and safe work environment, and a strong company culture that embodies a drive for success, ownership of responsibilities, and a passion for being the best and practicing continual improvement in all areas.

Responsibilities
  • Investigate and analyze financial deduction data that arise from noncompliance claims
  • Compile documentation to dispute all customer deductions in a timely manner
  • Reconcile customer deductions providing quantitative analysis with a focus on non-compliant vendor violations
  • Develop and maintain various customer tracking spreadsheets pertaining to compliance regulations, noncompliance claims and penalties
  • Ability to comprehend various shipping documents, internal and external, to validate or dispute compliance chargebacks while partnering and communicating information concisely to our internal and external customers
  • Provide solutions and strategies to reduce risk
  • Draft and conduct training guides and audits for risk assessment and mitigation
  • Thoroughly examine and interpret customer requirements, regulations and reports
  • Evaluates compliance with internal policies and procedures
  • Monitor and track oversight initiatives of company's key vendors.
  • Assist in the review, initial drafting, and managing of compliance policies and procedures to ensure policies and procedures are regularly updated, reviewed, and distributed
  • Ability to write compelling disputes
  • Guide our internal teams with onboarding requirements including training DC teams, explaining portal features and functionality.
  • Responsible for the administrative management of Customer Compliance regulations, tools, processes, and audits
  • Analyze, extract Compliance data and/or review policies, procedures, and documentation
  • Endorse and support a compliance culture whereby employees are encouraged to seek clarifications and support for compliance initiatives
  • Serve as a Compliance liaison and escalation point-of-contact for issue identification, resolution
  • Ability to interact with internal customers at all levels to resolve issues and provide solutions
  • Partner across multiple departments to ensure compliance, identify/reduce potential risk
  • Serves as a liaison between the Compliance Department, Distribution Center, Sales, Operations, Marketing, Sales Reps and Customer
  • Create Hazmat documentation for international customers and provide hazardous material training to our internal team
  • Provide notification to applicable parties with changes in rules and regulations. Monitor completion of any required compliance update or process change
  • Provides notification to the buying team of shipment delays, shortages, and extensions as necessary to prevent noncompliance penalties
  • Proficient use of Customer Portals maintaining data base integrity
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • At least three to five (3-5) years’ experience in a related field (Compliance, Accounts Receivable, Collections, Logistics, Claims, Analysis)
  • Prior experience in Risk Management protocols; training, auditing, SOPs.
  • Ability to use leadership and critical thinking skills to assist with risk assessments
  • Customer Service skills – superior communication written and oral, with a consultative approach to problem-solving with responsiveness and follow up
  • Ability to draw conclusions and adept to changing needs and demands
  • Ability to communicate ideas through presentations and reports
  • Good negotiation skills to manage risks
  • Advanced Windows based software skills in Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Strong analytical skills, problem solving, strategic thinking
  • Ability to handle customers, and cross functional departments with diplomacy and tact
  • Natural problem solver with strict attention to detail
  • Ability to make decisions independently, work under general direction and part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and with high sense of urgency
Summary of Necessary Knowledge, Experience and Skills
  • Ability to manage / interface with B2B websites
  • Proof Compliance Manuals for specific requirements pertinent to Lodge Shipping, Routing, Packaging and EDI
  • Identifying, constructing, and implementing process improvement measures
  • Problem Solving and countermeasure/mitigation
  • Proficiency in writing work instructions, and writing Standard Operating Procedures, and ability to analyze, and identify process weakness and create controls for improvement
  • Working knowledge of Distribution Center shipping operations, EDI, Customer Compliance regulations,
