Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree required some college experience accepted. Bachelors preferred
- A minimum of (1) year administrative and college retention or case management experience or experience in school/social services setting
- Demonstrate ability to monitor, document and report program outcomes
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Providing direct administrative and retention support to Center for Achieving Future Education Program participants with the goal of students achieving a three-year graduation rate
- Monitor enrollment, dismissal, and attendance data for college students' components on Agency database
- Provide data on semester retention: Fall to Spring retention, Fall to Fall retention (one year), Three Year Completion/Graduation
- Assist program with scheduling and securing academic and financial aid assistance and referrals for social services support for program participants
- Develop new strategies for college retention activities
- Track students enrolled in 2 year and 4-year colleges
- Develop workshops for CAFE alumni engagement
- Develop new initiatives to ensure college graduation retention
- Work closely with students to help them connect with college advisors, professors, and other college staff to remove barriers towards graduation
- Provide advisement to students to boost engagement, progress, and success
- Report to and meet with supervisor on a monthly basis
- Complete program reports on a monthly basis, or more frequently as required
- Attend trainings, both internal and external, promoting college access and success
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor
- Supervise and train two Peer Mentors for each Fall and Spring college semester
Program Specific Responsibilities:
- Participate in Monthly program meetings
- Support summer enrichment programming
- Demonstrate ability to successfully work in a fast paced and performance driven environment
- Engage and monitor follow-up participants to ensure milestone/goal attainment (College matriculation and retention)
Skills/Abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good Writing skills
- Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time
- Ability to climb five flights of stairs, if required and to conduct home visits and/or fieldwork
- Ability to bend and retrieve objects and or documents
- Ability to travel in adjacent borough of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation
- Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather, including inclement weather, if required to conduct home visits and or field work
