General Description
The Retention Specialist follows up with clients after they secure The Retention Specialist's primary responsibility is to manage engagement and consistently follow up with clients who have secured employment, contacting customers upon their job start date to initiate the best follow-up methods and advise them of the next steps. A Retention Specialist also encourages clients to maintain employment for 30 days and beyond, collect pay stubs, offer financial coaching, and advise clients to take full advantage of the program services.
Responsibilities
- Follow-up with candidates by phone to assess their employment status and advise them on their job search.
- Review resumes and identify current job openings that match candidates’ skills and interests.
- Input data into database and generate reports on job placement and retention results.
- Devise strategic contact methods to maintain client relationships with the program.
- Keep informed of transitional benefit information for clients enrolled in the program.
- Provide client support by email communication, phones screenings and follow up while maintaining sensitivity to client's employment needs.
- Responsible for entry, updates and integrity of client information in the client tracking system (SalesForce).
- Meet with client’s one on one for post-employment coaching sessions, including Financial Empowerment.
- Connect clients to appropriate and available resource for assistance with employment barriers or situation that may prevent them from ability to maintain employment.
- Leverage resources, share information and connect with all departments to assist clients with new job as needed.
- Review milestone documents to ensure all documents adhere to HRA policy.
- Reviews employer emails/fax for employment milestone confirmation.
- Schedule clients for post-employment services.
Work and Education Requirements
- High school diploma, Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 1-2 years' experience in social services, human resources, or customer service fields
- Ability to problem solve and work with a diverse customer base.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Results-oriented, bilingual a plus
Salary range: $21.63 - $24.04 hourly
