JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Resource Development Manager performs a variety of tasks related to database management donor engagement, donor stewardship, and Resource Development, with a primary focus on grant research and grant writing. Primary duties include providing key administrative support to members of the Resource Development and marketing teams, which includes communicating with Boys & Girls Club supporters to respond to information requests, tracking donor communications, conducting prospect research and assisting in donor outreach activities.
The Resource Development Manager works in collaboration with development staff, marketing staff, cabinet staff, directors, senior site managers and site managers and other administrative staff.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide direct daily support to development and marketing staff
- Complete accurate donor contribution entry into Donor Perfect Donor Database
- Help organize online and in-person events that promote donor stewardship and engagement
- Work with Resource Development and finance departments to ensure that all major and planned gifts are appropriately tracked, processed, and acknowledged
- Collaborate with staff to integrate grant goals in all fundraising and marketing activities
- Help maintain and promote physical and electronic communication materials
- Support initiatives, within annual giving and donor relations areas, from initial planning and coordination stages to implementation and follow-through
- Assist with correspondence to donors
- Conduct grant prospect research
- Write private and public foundation grants to support programs and initiatives
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Participate in all required and recommended Club trainings and staff meetings.
2. Actively collaborate, providing support and resources to the Resource Development & communications team and other organizational leadership.
3. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
1. Thorough knowledge of development practices, processes and procedures of non-profit organizations
2. Strong verbal and written communication skills
3. Strong computer and software knowledge
EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Experience: Minimum of two years of work experience in fundraising, marketing or related field
FUNDAMENTAL RELATIONSHIPS
Maintains close daily contact with the Club’s administrative leadership and supervisor to receive/provide information. Maintains contact with the team to plan and implement successful fundraisers and other events in the organization. Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, donors, and others to ensure the Club’s strong brand awareness.
