Wingspan Life Resources has an opening for a Development Associate & Enrichment Coordinator at our main office in Saint Paul. Founded in 1973, Wingspan Life Resources is a growing and dynamic nonprofit organization that provides services people with developmental and other disabilities in residential group homes, Specialized Services homes for high-behavior residents, a Crisis Respite Center, and In-Home programs throughout the Twin Cities.
The Development Associate and Enrichment Coordinator supports all aspects of fundraising with particular emphasis database management, administrative tasks, special events, volunteer support, and other duties as assigned. Program assistance with music and art enrichment and other activities will also be included.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Fund and Resource Development
- Research and assist with mailing projects related to sponsors/donors for Wingspan’s fundraising events including the annual Power of Love gala, “Made in the Shade” charity walk, Give to the Max Day, Beer Choir, and other special events
- Assist in the preparation and execution of fundraising events
- Assist with grant research
- Assist with procuring live and silent auction items for the gala
- Attend the gala, Made in the Shade and other special events
- Prepare bank deposits spreadsheets and process donor credit card transactions
- Prepare monthly credit card and gift in-kind reports
- Update and manage data bases including Raiser’s Edge, Soaring mailing list and Constant Contact
- Prepare and print reports, queries, and exports from database
- Process donor stewardship letters and donor receipts including year-end statements
- Process lists, ticketing information, table and bidder number assignment, reports, nametags, etc. related to the gala or other events
- Maintain development department files and the department supply inventory
- Assist with preparation/assembly/mailing of grant materials
- Assist with other special mailings as needed
- Assist with managing the grants calendar
- Assist with monthly accounting reconciliation and reporting
- Assist with client enrichment programs or other client activities as requested. Includes assistant with scheduling, coordinating ASL support, meeting room set up, taking notes and attendance, communication with artists and venues, budget tracking, record keeping.
- Communicate with Program Directors/House Coordinators regarding upcoming events and enrichment programs including weekly class reminders.
- Coordinate graphics and distribute flyers.
- Assist Community Engagement Specialist with volunteer events
- Assist with picking up donations from vendors, individuals, or community partner sites such as Gifts for Seniors, Girl Scouts, and more.
Educational Level
Two-year degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
Training and Experience
- 2-3 years nonprofit experience with desired major concentration in fundraising, Raiser’s Edge experience (or aptitude to learn) and strong experience with data base management and spreadsheets
- Valid Driver’s license required
- Strong Skills with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Event experience preferred
- Excellent communication and proofreading skills.
- Proven ability to organize and prioritize work projects as well as remain reliable and flexible
- Ability to work independently and communicate with program staff
- Ability to work well with Board, staff and volunteers, as well as the people we serve
- Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required for events or enrichment programs
- Ability to respect confidentiality of donor or client information
Special Knowledge and Skills:
Demonstrated communication skills with ability to read, write and speak in English language
Ability to work effectively within teams.
Schedule:
32 hours; M – TH - 8AM - 4PM - Flexible
