Job Description
Nurse Educator Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive training sessions for assisted living employees, covering essential topics such as: Dementia, Effective Communication, Behaviors, Person-Centered Care, and fostering a collaborative team approach to care with community life teams, dietary, outside vendors, and families.
- Provide training on Safety and Emergency Procedures, VA processes, Transferring/Lift Techniques, Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), and Delegated Tasks including dressing changes, catheter processes, ostomy cares, insulin administration, and recognition of diabetic signs and symptoms.
- Educate staff on the importance of timely communication and when to escalate issues, emphasizing the relevance of information.
- Foster a culture of teamwork among assisted living staff, instilling a sense of responsibility and collaboration.
- Deliver targeted training sessions for nursing staff, focusing on effective communication with assisted living teams, team building, trust, conflict management, achieving buy-In, and measurable results.
- Emphasize the significance of Person-Centered Care and establish strategies for maintaining positive relationships, resolving family conflicts, and providing education to residents and families.

Nurse Educator Qualifications:
- RN with an active, unrestricted license in MN.
- 5+ years of clinic practice focused on the senior population, showcasing extensive experience in managing complex healthcare scenarios.
- Experience as a healthcare educator, proving your ability to educate and inspire in an Assisted Living setting.
- Outstanding motivational and presentation skills, emphasizing your capacity to effectively communicate and drive positive change.
- Ability to travel locally at least 30% of the time, showcasing flexibility and a willingness to engage with diverse healthcare environments.
Nurse Educator Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional certifications or training in Dementia and relevant areas that enhance your qualifications.
- Experience in developing and implementing innovative educational programs.
- Familiarity with the latest advancements and best practices in healthcare education.
- Proven ability to adapt and thrive in dynamic and fast-paced healthcare environments.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in a healthcare education setting.
