Description:OVERVIEW: Founded in 1979 in direct response to rising rates of hunger and homelessness in North San Diego County, Interfaith Community Services works to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness by Helping People Help Themselves. Interfaith is the most comprehensive social services agency in North County, providing both immediate safety net services and long-term, life-changing programs designed to meet the holistic needs of people in crisis. Together, in partnership with 250+ diverse faith communities, more than 650 recurrent volunteers, and a growing staff of over 200, Interfaith provides a safe haven and pathway towards self-sufficiency for more than 17,000 community members annually.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:* This position is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure living environment for clients of Interfaith’s Transitional and Permanent Housing and Shelter Communities and Programs. Working alongside a comprehensive team of skilled professionals, the Resident Coordinator engages with case managers and behavioral health clinicians to get the client back to self-sufficiency.
- Maintain a safe and secure living environment for clients (drug, alcohol, violence free)
- Acclimate new clients to their living arrangements; assist with client exits
- Educate clients of all program policies and procedures; enforce program policies and procedures
- Monitor client affairs and help to resolve any issue that may arise
- Promptly notify supervisor (as well as other appropriate staff) of any problematic client behaviors, compliance issues, or any other problems that arise
- Assign chores to clients; oversee completion of chores and ensure safety standards are maintained at all times
- Perform drug/alcohol screenings as needed or required
- Review log book daily and update next shift of any notable issues
- Accurately record all emergency, disciplinary, and other events that occur during scheduled shift
- Immediately report medical emergencies to the appropriate agencies/organizations; administer First Aid/CPR and follow agency protocol and standard procedures in emergency situations
- Perform wellness checks on residents as needed or required
- Participate in all staff meetings and trainings
- Work with other Resident Coordinators to maintain cohesiveness of community
- Ensure that properties meet standards to pass Federal, State and Local inspections
- Coordinate utilities checks, fire drills and other checks/repairs as needed or required to maintain facility compliance with Federal, State and Local inspections
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements:EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION
- Knowledge of alcohol and other drug recovery field preferred
- Experience working with severely mentally ill, medically fragile, and homeless populations preferred
- Valid Driver’s License Required
- Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred
