Research Technician

We are currently seeking a Reasearch Techincian at our Paradise, Pennsylvania Central Laboratory.  This position adheres to a Quality Control System, which complies with federal, state and local construction specifications for the asphalt plant products and the products from the quarry operations.

• Runs quality control tests to evaluate compliance with specification of various projects and with federal, state and local regulations.
• Develops and adheres to all quality control procedures for the Quality Research Lab.
• Tests asphalt mix designs in accordance with specifications.
• Conducts various experiments on products using established scientific protocols.
• Receives and analyzes product related technical data coming from external salespeople and technical representatives regarding production procedures.
• Collects, records, and analyzes technical data coming from all internal plant locations.
• Preforms other job related duties as required or assigned.

Typical Duties:

Crew members will contribute to the success of the team through a variety of physical tasks which are generally either unskilled or semi-skilled in nature.  Typical duties include:

• Sampling asphalt and aggregates using a shovel.
• Mixing asphalt, gravel, and other material using hand tools.
• Cleaning and caring for tools, materials and work areas..

Experience & Education/Certificate:

• 1-2 years of experience in construction a plus
• GED/high school diploma or related work experience.
• Trade school a plus.
• Valid driver's license required.

Required Skills & Knowledge:

• Must be able to work well independently or within a team.
• Ability to work efficiently under deadlines and pressure.
• Ability to keep up in a fast-paced environment.
