The Parkhitko lab at the Aging Institute is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill a part-time Laboratory Research Tech I position. The Laboratory Technician I will work independently in the areas of aging and metabolism, using Drosophila as a model system. This position requires significant experience in biochemical/molecular techniques such as immunofluorescence, western blots, PCR, cloning and DNA/ RNA preparation, Drosophila handling/dissections, and genetics.
Prior experience in Drosophila handling/dissections, genetics, immunofluorescence, brain and thorax dissections, and confocal microscopy will be strongly considered.
