Pay range is $16 to $18.70 per hour.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The primary purpose of the Research Technician B is the break down and cleans up of pilot plant and kitchen equipment. They may also assist a Food Scientist with the set up and operation of food processing equipment in the pilot plant or kitchen. They will be responsible for delivery and pick of samples at various plants. Daily contact with R&D staff, Microbiology lab staff, plant and distribution staff. Some contact with sanitation, ingredient and equipment manufacturers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Break down and clean equipment in the pilot plant and kitchen.
• Provide support to scientists for the development and implementation of new or improved products.
• Responsible for ordering and procuring raw materials for projects.
• Drive to deliver or pick up samples.
• Keep cooler, freezer and dry storage area neat and orderly.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma required; experience in Food Industry preferred.
• Must have California Drivers License and a clean driving record.
• Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time (up to 8 hours) on a concrete/metal grate floor
• Must be able to work in cold environments, 40 degrees or hot environment up to 100 degrees.
• Must be able to lift from 5-70 lbs repeatedly throughout the day.
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Basic math skills necessary for working with formulations.
• Interest in the food industry.
