Relief Valve Technician

Great Western Valve is currently offering an opportunity for a Safety Relief Valve Technician to join our fast-paced, customer-oriented environment for our SRV group. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate and efficient repair of safety Relief Valves in the field.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Repair safety Relief Valves to National Board VR Code
• Read and interpret manufacturers drawings and spring charts
• Perform measurements with Steam boiler operating and testing, Dial calipers, Micrometers, and Dial indicators
• Apply math skills to verify critical dimensions
• Perform machine and hand lapping of nozzles and discs
• Perform valve write-ups including nameplate data, guide and nozzle ring settings, and spring number
• Pressure and leak test valves to National Board, API and ASME standards

Education and/or Experience:

• High School Diploma
• Industrial safety and Relief Valve experience
• Working knowledge of National Board Inspection Code (NBIC)
• Working knowledge of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)

• Valid Driver’s License
• Ability and strong desire to lead by example, as well as work well with others

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
