Vice President, Fund Controller

JOB DESCRIPTION The Asset Management Finance team is a critical part of Antares and has oversight on all aspects of Fund financials and investor reporting. In this role, you will lead the Fund finance organization for accounting and reporting of funds working with outside Fund Administrators and internal stakeholders. This individual will understand and provide guidance on complicated levered structures and initiatives including financial reporting, ensuring accuracy via shadow booking of transactions, preparing capital calls and distributions, responding to investor inquiries, due diligence requests, etc. An ability to lead the team to complete multiple tasks while working under strict deadlines is crucial. Our ideal candidate is independent, motivated, detail‐orientated and able to analyze data and convey conclusions effectively.RESPONSIBILITIESLead your fund accounting team to meet client deadlines and efficiently oversee financial reporting process.Using WSO as our shadow records, provide oversight of Fund Administrators to accurately produce quarterly and annual audited financial statementsWork with Fund Administrators including US Bank, SS&C Technologies and AlterDomus and other departments at Antares to deliver results.Prepare timely and accurate books and records, financial statements in accordance with US GAAP reporting requirements, capital account balances, capital call and distribution notices, and other fund accounting output for subsequent review.Prepare incentive fee, performance fee and carried interest calculations as governed by legal agreementsReconcile various accounts and promptly research and correct any variances, including the reconciliation of accounts with third party administrators.Lead onboarding of new funds with Fund Administrators including formalizing capital and distribution templates, establishing workflows.Identify exceptions and problems affecting accounting records and prices, communicating same to management, and assisting in their resolution.Oversee preparation of audit schedules, compliance reports, tax returns, financial statements, or other reports.Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key business decision makers throughout the company.Prepare responses to investor inquiriesCompile board meeting materials and lead conversations during periodic fund board meetings Serve as a leader of the overall Antares finance organization.QUALIFICATIONSMinimum 6 years of experience in accounting function in fund accounting and/or auditor roles.Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and CPA.Understand fair value accounting for alternative asset classesExperience with fund accounting / financial reporting for alternative asset manager including SMA's, multi-investor vehicles, and CLO'sExperience in, or exposure to, middle market lending and private equity activity including first lien and junior capital types of structures.Team player with excellent relationship building skillsExperience with finance company accounting and private credit fundsProficient in Microsoft Office applications, advanced Excel skillsKnowledge of Wall Street Office software (WSO) preferred.Experience using and/or developing data warehouses desired.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a changing environment with a high level of flexibilityTHE FINE PRINTMust have unrestricted authorization to work in the United StatesMust be willing to comply with pre-employment screening, including but not limited to drug testing, reference verification, and background checkMust be willing to work from the New York or Chicago officeNew York City Only: salary ranges are specific to market location; the salary range for this position is USD $140,000 to $165,000 and eligible for annual bonus.
