In-shop actuator services:
- Technical telephone support
- Document all incoming items for shop repair
- Survey
- Photo
- Enter job to open order log
- Stage and tag all items for shop repair
- Visually inspect the unit before repair
- Disassemble and clean unit before repair
- Internal inspection of unit for repair
- Inform the Service Coordinator of evaluation results, expected repair requirements and associated final schedule
- Initiate parts requisition with the Service Coordinator
- Perform preventative maintenance
- Repair, reassemble and test the actuator
- Enter repair data and test observations into ValveTrac
- Understand and follow safety practices
- Keep shop area organized and clean
- All other repair duties as required by the Supervisor
On-site services:
- Maintain required safety, drug testing and background check credentials
- Performs teardown, inspection, and rebuilds of valves and actuation in field
- Performs diagnostics and troubleshooting of valves and instruments
- Dispatches to customer site as scheduled
- Perform onsite walk-downs to scope repair requirements and recommend repair options and benefits
- Change pneumatic actuator failure action.
- Accurately takes and documents onsite measurements for use in fabricating actuator mounting hardware or other machined parts.
- Effectively communicate with customer.
- Maintain accurate time sheets, mileage and expense records for onsite assignments. Responsible to obtain customer signature that enables proper invoicing of the assignment.
- Performs other duties as required.
Safety Responsibilities:
- Follow safe work procedures and company safety policies and procedures, which includes but is not limited to:
- Obeying warning signs and postings
- Immediately reporting any injury, accident, or near-miss incidents
- Reporting unsafe hazards and unsafe conditions
- Completing safety training by the due date
- Using personal protective equipment as required by the employer
- Performs other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Knowledge:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience/Skills:
- 5+ years of actuator repair experience is required.
- Must be able to meet customer requirements for onsite access, including background and safety requirements.
COMPETENCIES:
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, with the ability to interpret technical manuals.
- Ability to safely use and maintain a large variety of tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and implement repair procedures and processes.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals.
- Possesses basic knowledge of A/C electrical circuitry and wiring.
- Ability to work independently or as a team member.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Ability to clearly communicate with supervision, team members, customers and salespeople.
- Possesses basic computer skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to wear maximum level of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without restriction which may include but is not limited to: hardhat; safety glasses; fire resistant clothing; safety-toed footwear; hearing protection; respiratory protection, etc.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to walk and stand 8 hours per day.
- Frequent climbing, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping.
- Hazards: Potential exposure to chemicals. Proximity to moving mechanical and mobile equipment.
- Must be able to work outside in environmental conditions which at times include extreme heat or extreme cold.
- Environmental Conditions: Exposure to chemical plant manufacturing facilities. Must work both outside and inside and often in inclement weather conditions. Frequent exposure to noise and vibration. Must be able to distinguish emergency and other alarms and respond according to prescribed procedures.
