Expected pay for this position is $144.30 - $180.38/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Vice President, Chief Medical Officer is responsible for driving superior clinical outcomes in the OSF hospital within the specified region. Works collaboratively with System and regional leaders to ensure that clinical programs are in place to meet the health care needs of the population within the region and that quality outcomes are achieved. Collaborates to ensure the implementation of standardized Ministry programs such as, but not limited to, a physician leadership program for the multispecialty groups across OSF, Clinical Agenda, Care Management, and OPPE. Also serves as a key leader in developing clinical practice optimization strategies and has input into AEMR enhancements within the OSF hospitals & ambulatory practice.
This position will cover both Sacred Heart in Danville, IL and Heart of Mary in Urbana, IL.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a licensed specialist physician in the State of Illinois
- A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience Qualified candidates will possess a strong knowledge of leadership development principles and theories.
- Makes decisions systematically, can make decisions under pressure, builds consensus, can make difficult/unpopular decisions, and considers impact of decisions.
- Documented effectiveness in project management/multi-tasking capabilities; identifying and resolving problematic situations.
- Ability to drive ideas and change through networking and relationship building; apply skills of self-motivation and development.
- Demonstrates ability to effectively collaborate at all levels of an organization.
- A comprehensive understanding of issues facing the healthcare industry and the implications for future provision of clinical services.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills are required.
- Ability to command respect and confidence with professional peers on direct provision, referral and contractual basis.
- Management & leadership experience in a consumer focused healthcare.
- Exhibited leadership skills and executive presence.
- With results orientation and commitment to staff development.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Professional development courses in health care management and/or MPH, MHS, MBA, or MS in health administration or closely related degree
- An additional 5 years of progressively higher level experience in a clinical leadership role
