Califia Farms is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Sales Manager to develop its growing business with regional distributors in the West/Central. This role requires strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Furthermore, you will ensure that Califia Farms is always "top of mind" with all our DSD partners & customers and that the distributor's efforts, key account calls, & programs are aligned with your business plans.
Responsibilities- Manage the Headquarter sales calls for regional distributors in the West/Central as needed. Must have an overall knowledge of the Distributor Network including UNFI indirect and independent retailers.
- Accurate & timely forecasts for case volume, spending, and profitability.
- Business planning & analysis.
- Marketplace execution, maximizing distribution & securing high value retail space.
- Merchandising, Promotion support & new business development.
- Training and development of distributors.
- Manage broker partner sales execution and conduct regular business reviews.
- Ensure marketplace execution of Retail programs.
- Be a customer advocate to Califia HQ to ensure customers are receiving the appropriate level of organizational support.
- Travel requirements: As needed, 50%+
- Bachelor's Degree desired with at least 4 years of relevant experience in the food and beverage industry (beverage preferred).
- Experience working with DSD teams & systems and developing indirect business with key distributors.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills -- both written and verbal.
- Broker management experience desired.
- Demonstrated success with an emerging brand or highly competitive consumer products category.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Keen understanding of syndicated data (IRI, SPINS, Nielsen, Retail Link) and how to use it for internal and external analysis and planning.
- Relentless drive and eagerness to develop skillset and responsibilities.
- Experience with CRM tools such as Salesforce and automated trade spend systems such as Exceedra.
Salary Range: $100 - $120K
