Mission Statement:
Jacobs is seeking a qualified Operational Technology professional to support our OMFS facilities within the North region. Your role at Jacobs enables our regional Operational Technology team to better "Serve and understand the needs of operational teams to deliver and support practical, resilient, & secure technology." As a member of our team, you will support the Operational Technology Manager & the Regional Services Group as we work with our facilities to provide world-class OT services that enable the daily treatment of more than 170 million gallons of water and the protection of water resources throughout the region.
OT Administrators will need excellent problem-solving skills and customer service skills, and experience with computer hardware, networking equipment, active directory management, and cyber security assessment. OT Systems Administrators will be responsible for maintaining a diverse deployment of firewalls network switches, servers, operating systems, and radio communications technologies while developing and implementing upgrades across projects of differing sizes and budgets. This position must be service-oriented and proactive in anticipating and resolving problems while maximizing efficient use of resources. Ideal candidates will be eager to learn more and develop skills in both primary and secondary areas such as SCADA (Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition), HMI (Human Machine Interface), PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers), and Industrial Cyber Security.
Typical Duties:
- Traveling to facilities throughout the region (1 week every two months)
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining desktop PCs, servers, managed network switches, firewall security appliances, network Cameras, Wireless Access Points, and other industrial hardware
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining PC/Server/Embedded operating systems and software.
- Troubleshooting network connectivity issues
- Troubleshooting computer hardware issues
- Remote Work, Home/Local facility
- Remotely monitor assets across facilities and identify maintenance needs or service degradation
- Work with facility managers to identify technology needs
- Document existing infrastructure
- Develop plans to improve facility networks, computer hardware, & software
- Collaborate with other disciplines on equipment installation, startup & commissioning
- Configure equipment to conform to security and resiliency standards
- Manage network user accounts and access controls

Experience/Training Requirements
- A principle-driven person that exudes Integrity, Curiosity, & Empathy
- +8 Years' experience in medium business, municipal, or enterprise IT/OT
- A solid technical foundation, focusing on Cyber Security & Networking across many platforms
Additional Qualifications:
- A person who is visionary; one who plans far ahead and focuses on what is important
- Certifications/Training: Information Technology/ Cyber Security Degree or Technical Certification.
- Including but not limited to: (CCNP, CEH, GIAC SE, CISSP)
- Background in electrical or electronic practical application. Alarm system installation etc.
- Other corollary skills: Automotive repair, Mechanical skills, process, manufacturing knowledge, etc.
Physical Requirements:
- Sitting at desk. Phone use and PC or laptop. It may require lifting and carrying boxes of supplies or files up to 25 lbs. Extended periods of sitting while on PC/laptop or phone.
- Extended periods of walking throughout industrial facilities both inside and outside.
- May require climbing, working at heights and in small, confined spaces such as under raised floors, inside closets, and server racks. Must be able to sit, stoop, kneel or crouch for long periods. Work in loud areas with hotter and colder temperatures than standard office environmental conditions. Lift and transport equipment up to 50 pounds.
Tools & Equipment:
- General office equipment, which includes telephone, copier, PC/laptop, and other miscellaneous office equipment.
- Servers, switches, routers, and other computer equipment that supports the commercial and industrial network environment.
- Networked Industrial Equipment: VFDs, PLCs, HMIs, Embedded devices, Radios, etc.
- Operating hand tools, power tools, ladders, and test equipment.
Attendance:
- Regular attendance in accordance with the established work schedule is mandatory
- Overtime/work outside normal schedule may be required.
Travel:
- Estimated (12.5%) travel throughout the 'North' (CT, DE, IL, MI, NJ, NY, PA, RI) region will be required
- Candidate must maintain a valid driver's license with no major infractions
- Candidate must maintain a valid 'REAL ID' driver's license or other TSA-approved identification
- Other Essential Functions:

Must be well organized with the ability to coordinate, prioritize, and execute multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment.
