Job Description
SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Executive Director of Facilities Information Technology, the Facilities Spaceand Asset Information Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration, implementation, and maintenance of the design management, modeling, and geographic reference Information Systems that support all physical facilities infrastructure and equipment owned by the University. This position supports all reporting activities, the active administration of equipment and systems, and the building and planning of data elements within the Division.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support, maintain, and administrate the University's Archibus, CAFM, CAD, BIM, and GIS systems and databases, including but not limited to all University equipment and Assets, system maps and related engineering, utility documents, and Information Systems.
  • Coordinate regular space inventories throughout the University to verify and update current conditions and usage in the database; maintain accountability for the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of the inventory data.
  • Support all related web-based systems and information, including campus mechanical (water, sewer, steam, condensate, and electrical) systems, and assist in the troubleshooting and maintenance, of such systems.
  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and distribution of basic university standards and guidelines for CAD drawings, Space Administration, and GIS mapping; look over externally prepared drawings; update changes in systems as needed.
  • Create and maintain a variety of physical and digital campus maps.
  • Track and maintain an accurate GIS mapping database.
  • Generate reports related to building data or systems as needed by Facilities Maintenance and Engineering (FM&E), the provost's office, and the Registrar's office.
  • Conduct on-campus surveys.
  • Organize existing files, prints, and manuals, and maintain the accuracy of all building system maintenance and campus infrastructure records.
  • Collaborate with division directors and supervisors to obtain and review construction, renovation, and repair project files related to mechanical and architectural system maintenance. Serve as a liaison to other University and Facility managers on assigned projects.
  • As directed, serve on committees and attend professional training and development courses, seminars, and conferences.
  • Assists the Executive Director of Facilities Information Technology in ensuring University compliance with all basic federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Comprehend, interpret, and apply established University, industry, and government regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Architecture, Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in facilities planning, and GIS planning, resulting in a sound knowledge of architectural graphic conventions or related fields.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Autodesk, ESRI, Archibus systems, Excel, databases, and reporting software.
  • Excellent customer and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently.

PREFERRED:
  • Professional or internship experience at an institution of higher education in facilities design and management with responsibility for GIS design, space planning, and Asset management reporting.
