Job Description
CORMAC is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our growing company. This is a part-time remote opportunity open to HUBZone RESIDENTS ONLY. In this role the individual will work 40 hours a month/10 hours per week, which allows for relatively flexible hours, however at least half of the work will be completed during business hours when some of the communications that are related to the work may need to occur.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Daily duties will vary according to project needs, with job responsibilities to include:
- Writing and debugging code (open to any modern programming language)
- Troubleshooting software issues
- Analyzing user and software requirements to inform system design
- Working closely with developers to improve our product’s functionality
- Developing innovative solutions
- Attending developer and/or scrum meetings
- Writing reports regarding the progress of software under development
- Monitoring the performance of internal systems
- Participating in code reviews and/or quality assurance testing activities
- Participating in estimation discussions with the product team
- Continually improving coding skills
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, Economics, or related quantitative field
- Permanent residence within a HubZone
- Proven knowledge of basic coding languages such as Java, C#, andor JavaScript
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.)
- Able to adapt to a fast-paced work environment
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
