Due to growth, the company has a need for a Regional Manufacturing Process Engineer. This position reports to the Director of Manufacturing. This is a hybrid role based in Georgia (preferably Greater Atlanta or Northeast GA and involves up to 50% travel to multiple facilities in GA, TX, etc.
The Regional Manufacturing Process Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams in multiple facilities, including operations, engineering, and quality assurance, to develop and implement best practices. This role will be responsible for establishing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), analyzing production data, and identifying areas for optimization. Additionally, this role will be responsible for training and mentoring manufacturing teams to ensure adherence to quality standards and safety protocols. This position will be responsible for recipe development and control in order to lead to reduction in process variation. This position will be responsible for multiple sites and will require travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use statistical methods to interpret manufacturing data. Responsible for reduction and control of process variation
- Utilize a data-driven approach to identify opportunities within the facility. Use root cause analysis to determine any process or quality issues
- Recipe control and development
- Supervision and control of resin formulation
- Oversee the MANUFACTURING PROCESS in multiple locations within the region
- Direct and develop operational methods, including standard operating procedures and product recipes
- Manage ECNs (Engineer Change Notices), properly documenting changes in processes and procedures
- Generate, lead, and execute continuous and/or step change improvements
- Responsible for product and process development through recipe creation if needed
- Participate in CAPEX by running trials, developing equipment requirements, performing engineering analyses
- Develop and maintain vendor relationships in collaboration with Procurement team
- Teach principles of process control, data analysis, waste reduction, material flow, reduced inventory/lead time
- Drive programs and processes, including audits, for meeting daily KPI’s – Availability, Performance, Quality
- Manage conformance to ISO systems relating to extrusion department
- Participate in plant safety activities and accountability. Actively promote safety culture in facility
- Data analytics and analysis for the Regional Team
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field
- 5+ years of manufacturing engineering and process control experience
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Strong engineering, mathematical, analytical, project leadership, and communication
- Extensive knowledge of extrusion, data analysis, statistics & Statistical Process Control, Total Productive Maintenance, quality systems, Lean systems, and formalized project management
- Record of success leading and/or providing key contributions to programs for quality assurance, process and product development & commercialization, continuous improvement, raw materials, and equipment vendor technical management
- Significant skill in coaching and collaborating with manufacturing associates to solve problems and improve operations
- Polymers and nonwoven fabrics technologies experience
