Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a CO+I Regional Director, Datacenter Operational Efficiencies you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. The Americas Operational Efficiencies team leads and builds global programs that support Data Center Operations through fiscal planning and execution at scale.  As a Regional Director, Datacenter Operational Efficiencies you will drive the delivery of world-class cloud services across your region.  You will interact and maintain relationships with various authorities and partners across all sectors of the datacenter industry. You will use business acumen and financial management skills to manage operating costs effectively, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, security, and ecological responsibility. A successful candidate will bring interpersonal awareness, ability to navigate ambiguity, and communication skills with program management, technical abilities, and leadership experiences to a whole new level in supporting Microsoft’s success!

 

This is a remote role. Candidates can sit anywhere in the United States.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent AND 10+ years experience of mission-critical service management (e.g., providing IT services, manufacturing, warehouse, retail, military, or managing physical operations in an IT and/or critical environment infrastructure).
  • 5+ years’ experience in leading and influencing a diverse organization of full-time employees across multiple disciplines, platforms, cultures, and countries.  

Other Requirements: 

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Working knowledge of datacenter infrastructures (e.g., Critical Electrical and Mechanical systems, vendor support services, headcount planning). 
  • Supply chain, procurement, vendor management and fiscal planning background and experience.  
  • Awareness of IT Service Operations fundamentals and principles. (ITIL, MOF, OLA/SLA, CSI, etc.). 

Data Center Operations Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,800 - $267,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,800 - $294,000 per year.
