Job Description – Part-time, Temporary, Remote

Description

We are hiring a Legal Researcher part-time to conduct research on Records Management Legal and regulatory requirements. Candidates are required to be attorneys but will not be practicing law in this position.

Contoural is the largest independent provider of Information Governance services, serving as trusted advisor to more than 30% of the Fortune 500, many mid-sized companies, as well as non-profits, Federal Agencies and state governments across the US and the world. We anticipate that the most successful candidates have 3-10 years of experience in conducting legal research and can identify legal and regulatory recordkeeping requirements for U.S and international jurisdictions.

We need candidates now but are also looking to identify individuals who can be available as demand arises.

This is remote virtual position based in the United States.

What you will work on

Contoural is looking for a part-time attorney to conduct legal research. Some of the things you will work on include:

• Research on U.S. federal, state, and international recordkeeping laws, and regulations
• Validate previously researched laws and regulations against a client’s Retention Schedule
• Link specific citations to their corresponding Records Category in a Records Retention Schedule

Where will you work

This is a fully remote position based in the United States.

About you

Overall, we are looking for an attorney who is a proven self-starter, hands-on and capable of working independently and remotely.

Some specific skills you should have:

• JD Degree – if you do not have a law degree your resume will not be considered
• Significant experience in conducting legal research – a bonus if your legal research experience includes searching for legal and regulatory recordkeeping requirements
• Experience using Microsoft 365 productivity tools, including Microsoft Teams

Pay and benefits

This position pays on an hourly basis between $65 and $90 per hour. As this is a temporary position it does not offer benefits.
