The Department of Natural Resources, Division of Support Services is seeking to hire a Recorder 1 located in the Fairbanks Recorder’s Office.

Core Responsibilities
This is an entry-level position that will train you in land records management and give you valuable skills to be able to be promoted further with a professional career.
The Department of Natural Resources is seeking to hire a highly motivated individual with great customer service skills who has a desire to learn and can work independently or as part of a team.
The Recorder 1 position performs various duties involved in accepting and processing real estate and other associated documents into the permanent public land record for districts across Alaska. Duties include customer service, frequent computer use – including Microsoft Office products, DNR web programs, word processing, and database entries – and basic retail transactions.

Minimum Qualifications

PI05A1 – Recorder 1
Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in:
  • Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
  • Computer Skills: Uses computers, software applications, databases, and automated systems to accomplish work.
  • Critical Thinking: Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Customer Service: Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside State government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
  • Reading: Understands and interprets written material, including technical material, rules, regulations, instructions, reports, charts, graphs, or tables; applies what is learned from written material to specific situations.
  • Written Communication: Writes in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience.

Experience including the performance of administrative support assignments; specifically, typing or data entry, or working with documents concerning ownership and encumbrances on property, such as deeds, liens, mortgages, promissory notes, financing statements, plats, or surveys.

Education
