The American National Accounting Department is seeking a full-time team member who will be assessed at both the Staff Accountant & Senior Accounting Analyst job level based upon skills, to provide technical expertise on accounting systems and perform general accounting functions. To thrive in this position, you should be comfortable with reconciliations, have an innate ability to critically analyze detail, and comfortability using various systems.
Onsite Placement Locations: Galveston (Preferred location) & League City, Texas
How you will make an impact:
- Provide support on enterprise-wide account reconciliations through Blackline
- Actively assess opportunities for improvements
- Prepare reconciliations of various general ledger accounts while also comparing against SAP GL
- Work with business areas to understand and resolve accounting operational issues
- Learn and participate in the recording, processing, and analysis of financial transactions
Qualifications:
- Four-year college degree in accounting or finance strongly preferred; Candidates who hold two-year college degrees with relevant work experience may also be considered
- Interest and aptitude to navigate accounting systems
- Resourceful, not knowing all the answers but having the capability to effectively research and identify potential resolution
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated expertise navigating accounting relevant software
- Accounting reconciliation experience preferred
- Interest in professional growth
Great skills to have:
- Accounting software knowledge in Oracle, SAP. NetSuite, Blackline highly beneficial
- Strong interest in finance systems and automation
- Interface and/or account reconciliation experience
