BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/TRAINING:
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required
SKILLS:
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service, organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in computer skills to include the use of Gmail, Word and Excel as well as the ability to learn new applications
  • Have good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to prioritize
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment
  • Communication to appropriate party/ supervisors
  • Conduct work responsibilities in quiet efficient manner
EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience in a customer service role preferred
  • General office experience preferred
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Understanding of state and federal healthcare laws and regulations
  • Provide outstanding hospitality for all residents, families, visitors, potential residents
  • Welcome and support the hospitality of the Holland Christian Home community
  • General administrative duties
  • Work with both the staff and residents to secure smooth functioning of our Home
  • Notify appropriate staff
STANDARD REQUIREMENTS:
  • Support the Mission, Values and Vision of the Holland Christian Home
  • Understand and honor the Christian principles of the organization
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the Residential Living principles, including resident choice, privacy, independence, and dignity in all interactions with residents
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the aging process, cognitive impairments, Alzheimer’s and other dementias
  • Ensure all assigned user ID codes and passwords for accessing resident / facility information are kept confidential; ensure the departmental computer workstations left unattended are properly logged off or the password protected automatic screen-saver activates within established facility policy guidelines
  • Report known or suspected incidents of fraud to the Administrator
  • Report any known or suspected unauthorized attempt to access facility’s information system
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance as well as confidentiality of all data, including resident, employee and operations data
  • Exhibit concern for safety and well-being of staff, residents, families, and visitors
  • Report regularly throughout work day to the Administrator/ Designee
  • Maintain a pleasant home like environment while conducting responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Answer external and internal phone calls
  • Operate Visitor Management System with printing visitor badge
  • Direct visitors / guest / vendors/ deliveries
  • Assist residents with shredding
  • Help stuff mailings, as need
  • Provide directions
  • Direct delivery’s- (FedEx, USPS, UPS) etc.

OTHER DUTIES:
  • Assist with special projects when necessary
  • Timely completion of all required in-services
  • Must be present for at least one mandatory annual fire drill
  • Must participate in annual N95 Fit Testing
  • All other responsibilities that may be necessary to fulfill the duties associated with the position or as may be assigned
HOURS OF WORK:
  • As per department schedule
