Zepf Center has been serving the Lucas County community for nearly 50 years. We are the leading provider of behavioral health and substance use disorder services in Northwest Ohio. Services include adult and child psychiatric, substance abuse, case management, residential, Crisis Care, and therapy programs, as well as career development and wellness services. Zepf Center also offers primary care medical services to our patients to contribute to their continuum of care. Zepf Center is a trauma-informed agency and environment for both patients and staff.
We are currently seeking a Full TimeReceptionist for our Primary Care department. This position is to act as the initial contact and liaison for patients seeking Primary Care treatment services. This position provides phone coverage, clerical duties, captures accurate, complete, and up-to-date patient demographics and financial information. The position works closely with and provides administrative support to other members of the Primary Care department. The Receptionist ensures the collection of accurate and complete patient paperwork and is responsible for a positive patient experience from check-in to check-out.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greets patients upon arrival to determine the nature of the visit.
- Documents patient communication in the Electronic Health Record.
- Coordinate and prioritize appointment schedules to optimize patient flow.
- Manage front desk operations, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, copying/faxing documents, keeping handouts and other patient forms printed and stocked.
- Facilitate patient check-ins and check-outs.
- Scan identification and insurance cards onto patients’ records
- Collect patient demographic information and assist in the completion of new patient paperwork and update information to ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and support staff to maintain efficient clinic operations.
- Keeps track of incoming Internal Referrals and contact patients to schedule for Primary Care appointments.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines in handling patient information.
- Respond to patient inquiries, providing information about clinic services and policies.
- Maintains appearance of the office to provide a positive experience for the patient.
Specific/Individual Competencies:
- Ability to lift 15-20lbs.
- Ability to provide basic hardware trouble shooting.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Excellent communication skills: ability to relate with all levels of staff and the public
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of HIPAA
- Ability to conduct research, interpret, and report information.
Job Requirement:
- Must have High School diploma and a minimum of two years of experience in a physician's office, clinic, hospital business office, or related area dealing with the public in the collection of data is required.
- Experience with electronic health record software, and knowledge of functions within a Primary Care clinic setting is preferred
- Candidate must have experience with and be comfortable working in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on skills related to Excel, Word, and Outlook.
